Inspired by mixing blends and barrels from around the world to create new modern whisky with traditional methods.
Unlikley whisky
We were on the hunt for an interesting whiskey, why? Well, sometimes we like having a nice whisky or bourbon.
There are some nice whiskeys available, good ones and great ones. After searching the shelves of several liquor stores we realised that they all started looking the same and blending into each other. We found that the gins and vodkas had a lot more variety in their labeling and to an extent their flavours.
I decided I was going to see if we could design a brand that could sit on the shelves and stand out, be interesting, get noticed.
The challenge really was to design a logo and packaging that maintained a sense of belonging within the whisky isles and was modern enough to grab attention and jump off the shelf.
We tested several iterations of the design, working with a local liquor store and displayed the prototypes on the shelf's to see how the new brand and labels compared. In order for the brand to compete against the other whiskeys we found that the chosen design piqued more interest and differentiated itself from the other brands.
