EBN is changing the game for hemp and hemp technology. A new brand that's embodying its values from the get-go.

Equal by nature is a sustainable hemp tech company, specialising in developing hemp and sustainable products for the surf and beach community. Their mission is to restore nature, reduce waste and pollution by designing and making sustainable surf products. Their goal is to develop new products using Hemp as a natural alternative, and to create a business based on the concept of giving back, from her products to her entire approach to business.
Part of her business and approach is the impact that Jazz is trying to make by supporting and organising beach clean ups, donations and building a business that supports positive habits towards a clean and minimal future.
Ebn's first product line is surf board bags that are entirely made from hemp and sustainable materials. They are designed so that the bags themselves can be compostable or returned back to ebn when they are at the end of their life to be recycled, re used or given back to the earth.
Ebn's first challenge was in developing prototypes that could be used for testing and to have a brand identity with which they can launch their first line of products. We helped them focus on a series of small rapid prototypes to test the concepts and function of their surf board covers.
We set out to design a brand identity and logo that can help them connect with their community, challenge existing surf brands and future proofing their brand for growth into other possible markets.
In order to make Hemp more accessible as a commercial alternative, we focused on moving away from the overused symbols of hemp, hemp leaves, and the association with marajuana, especially if ebn wants to achieve their mission in the long run.
By focusing the brand strategy and Identity on her vision and mission to develop and design products around changing the way we think, feel and behave around our buying habits and the consequences and repercussions to nature, the animals and ourselves, we were able to achieve an identity that spoke about nature, the ocean and fits within the surf community and can grow as the brand grows.
Ebn believes that by living a more meaningful, minimal life in a way that adds rather than takes away from our roots, we can live a life more connected to nature, to each other and to ourselves.
